Solar Panel Arrival in Mole St Nicolas
The panels from ENGIE North America have arrived to Haiti! These panels will be used provide access to basic energy services in rural Haitian municipalities in
the Northwestern department.
Donor Visit of St. Louis du Nord Hospital
HADPRE previously facilitated, through the support of Dr Else Kroener Fresenius Stiftung (EKFS) and Hilfswerk Austria International, the maintenance
and operation of a generator at the Hospital in St Louis du Nord in Northwestern Haiti. Oil crises continue to worsen in Haiti and
recent turmoil in the industry led to prolonged phases of diesel shortage and ruptures in services in all sectors. For the hospital, this means that life-saving
equipment cannot be operated for a prolonged period of time and necessary supplies cannot be transported to the region. Independence from fossil fuels and the
diversion of power generation to renewable energies is becoming increasingly important and crucial for providing services.
HADPRE will use part of the solar panels donated by ENGIE to install a solar system at the Hospital and expand the battery storage system that was previously
installed. This will help the hospital become independent from diesel crises.
Sigora Solar Visit
Employees from Sigora Solar visited Haiti in early April. The team visited Mole St Nicolas and Jean-Rabel, including the port site, Presqu’ile and the solar grid. This trip was incredibly rewarding as Sigora Solar and Sigora Haiti employees were able to collaborate, connect and learn from each other!
